Apple Announces New 17" MacBook Pro

Apple have announced the new 17" MacBook Pro at MacWorld Expo, bringing the same technologies to their flagship laptop as have been in the MacBook and 15" MacBook Pro for some months.

Featuring a new precision aluminium unibody enclosure, the new machine also includes a new battery that delivers up to eight hours of use and three times the life of conventional laptop batteries - although it is not user-removable.

The MacBook Pro also now features a new LED-backlit glass-fronted display with 1920 x 1200 pixels, driven by the new discrete NVIDIA 9600M GT graphics processor.

Running at 2.66GHz or 2.93GHz, the new machine also supports up to 8GB RAM.

The new machine will be shipping at the end of January 2009.
